Util-Assist is thrilled to announce that we have been named York Region’s “Large Business of the Year” for 2019. York Region, located directly north of Toronto, is Ontario’s fastest growing large municipality and third-largest business hub, with over 1.1 million residents and 52,000 businesses. A panel of four community business leaders scored submissions from dozens of companies nominated by chambers across the Region. Nominated by the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce, Util-Assist’s submission had the highest score based on criteria that included growth, innovation, community service and overall business excellence. The award was presented at the Colossal York Region Chamber Connection event on June 4.

Our submission for the award detailed our numerous employee engagement initiatives, including hosting guest presenters on topics relevant to employees, company breakfasts, fitness challenges, and our new “Open House” program in which employees, randomly assigned to houses, compete in fun challenges. We are committed to corporate responsibility; with most of our employees living in York Region, we give back to the community through events and fundraisers throughout the year.
